Frequently asked questions
01How do I start?
Create a project, add a process and open the map editor. Tap a block in the tray: it appears on the canvas, connected to the block you had selected. Select a block and tap Edit to give it a name, a duration, a cost and a responsible person.
If you would rather look first, open the sample project from the first screen or from Settings, or start from one of the 15 templates.
02How is the cost of a step calculated?
Fixed cost plus the time of the responsible person at their hourly rate. A step with CHF 1.50 of materials that takes 8 minutes of someone paid CHF 32 an hour costs CHF 5.77.
Hourly rates are set under Team. A step without a person only counts its fixed cost.
03What is the difference between total time, longest route and average run?
Total time counts every step once. The longest route is the slowest way from Start to an End, following the arrows. The average run weights each branch by the share you gave its arrow, so a branch taken in 30% of runs counts for 30%.
04When is a step flagged as a bottleneck?
When it takes a large share of the total time or cost. The limit is 25% unless you change it in Settings (15% to 50%). The map needs at least three steps with figures before anything is flagged.
05Does the app need an internet connection?
No. It works completely offline and does not even have the internet permission.
06How do I move my data to a new phone?
Settings → Save a backup file, and send the file to yourself by any app in the share sheet. On the new phone: Settings → Restore from a backup file. Nothing is synchronised automatically, so data that was never saved to a backup file cannot be recovered after the app is removed.
07How do I delete my data?
Single projects, processes, people and checklists can be deleted where you edit them. Settings → Delete all data removes everything at once. Uninstalling the app does the same. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to delete.
08An export did not work. What now?
Try again, and check that the map has at least one block. Very large maps take a moment to render as an image. If it keeps failing, write to us and name the export you tried (PDF, image, print or text).
